When we were sitting at a bar the other day waiting for a to go order, having a drink, I told him how the beer tap things were turning me on,

I exclaim excitedly to him, look at the size of these carrots,
Easter morning, I whispered to him about this true Polish kielbasa
When I tell him I want it here and I want it now in the parking lot of Idle Hour bar/restaurant, he shakes his head at me. Sometimes Ill give him a moon in the middle of a store, yep, shakes his head at me.
On Halloween when I wanted to dress up like Little Bo peep, wig and all,
When I ask him to say cock fight cock fart ten times fast like the firemen did on Rescue Me last night, ,
Geez..Even if I hand him a ritz cracker sleeve and stroke it in a provacative manner, I am met with a shake of the head.
I know, I know you are wondering WHICH head aren't you.. what slobs you all are.. you really need to get your minds out of the gutter..
OH Man,

Anyway, here is a Rachael Ray(hows that for a cold shower) recipe, a quickie but goodie weeknight meal..
Bacon Sloppy Joes, original recipe found here.. I paired it with my granny's old fashioned macaroni salad. Very simple, but very pleasing!
To begin with the joes, cook your chopped up bacon in a skillet.
This macaroni salald was my granny's.. It is a simple one, yet very tasty, pleases most.
Just cut up your veggies, carrots, celery, red and green peppers, and red onions.
Giveaway winners announced next post, I have to go now.. but here is one more present for you.. He can shake his head, either one, at me any ole time..
how bout you? ...Thank you Monica for use of your friend.Simple Basic Macaroni SaladMacaroni Salad

Oh lawsey! First thing in the morning and I have to work all day! You are so evil Donna!
ReplyDeleteI really like that Sloppy Joe, you had me at bacon. The macaroni is a great side! I should have gone to your house for dinner last night!
Yum!!! This looks delish! And I'm not talking about the food....well, the food looks fantastic too!
ReplyDeleteI'm shaking my head right now! :)
ReplyDeleteThe sloppy joes look great, the bacon really turns them into something special.
Oh - fantastic! What a hottie!!!
ReplyDeleteMust be a husband thing - I'm regularly met with a shake of the head when I say stuff to mine ;) Great looking sloppy joes...I haven't had one in ages.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE sloppy Joes....but the vegetarian version (unfortunately?) :) I'll substitute the meat with tofu or something. But the recipe is pretty cool :)
ReplyDeleteaahhhh the carrot i can't believe you still use them. oh have them.
ReplyDeleteYou always pick great food! I can't wait to try the sloppy joes with bacon. Sounds yummy. Never had a sloppy joe with bacon. Your grandmas salad looks great too. The simple old recipes really are the best!
ReplyDeleteOh Donna you have done again take my mind off the food. Looks great everything.
ReplyDeleteyou would look good as little blow me too.
ReplyDeleteI feel slightly illegal reading this post at work. I've never tried bacon in sloppy joes - and haven't tried making sloppy joes since college. THis seems like a great reason to try them. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletethis blog woke me up.
ReplyDelete*alert!*
Nice eye candy today!
ReplyDeleteMy mom is famous for her macaroni salad, too. My husband and kids don't like it, so when she makes some she always makes a little extra for me to take home. I like the idea of adding carrots to the salad, I've never had it that way.
Some nice eye candy there. If I had that around I might actually get my mind off food once in a while and lose a few pounds.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one whose husband can't seem to figure out what to do with a suggestive remark. Men are so dense!
Your mac salad is so nice and homey and tasty looking. You have a little more flavor than your average bland mayo-and-elbow salad.
Donna, how did you know that sloppy joes are the secret way to my heart... whenever Matt and I make a bet about something ("That's the actor from Lord of the Rings!" "No it's not!"... we're so lame) I ALWAYS say that if I win, he has to make me sloppy joes. Next time I'll be more specific: he has to make me THESE sloppy joes.
ReplyDeleteNow, I am by no means as hilarious as you, although I feel as if reading your blog has helped me brush up on my own bawdy puns... but I definitely get the head shakes from my bf as well. I pretend like he's saying "You are so cute and I love you so much... but I can't match your current intense level of ridiculousness with any mix of words, so I'm just going to shake my head in appreciation of your personality..."
I want some of his bacon, I mean your bacon, ya know the bacon for the sloppy joes...DAMN! This post has got me going, whahoooo!
ReplyDeleteThe Joe's look wonderful! I agree that all buns are better toasted, I am off to toast mine ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is a deadly, delightful combination.
ReplyDeleteYum all of it!
ReplyDeleteOh, my grandma made macaroni salad just like this! I will make it for the memories, and the yumminess :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest I don't care about the food....who is that gorgeous blue eyed creature? Love blue eyes. My honey has pretty blue eyes too but he's a blond and the abs are gone. :(
ReplyDelete~ingrid
Adding bacon to the sloppy joes sounds great. The macaroni salad is calling my name - it's been much to long since I've had it. YUM!
ReplyDeleteSloppy Joes makes me think of Sloppy Seconds, LOL! Who the hell is that man, and why is he wearing a wedding ring? I love the mac salad I have been looking for a good one and this is it!@
ReplyDeleteI was actually thinking about making another sloppy joe recipe that I came across, but after seeing this post, I decided to go with your recipe instead! The macaroni salad looks really good, too!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made sloppy joes in years, but isn't it something how men love them? And macaroni salad is another man-pleaser. Love the bacon in the SJ's, and your macaroni salad is just like mine.
ReplyDeleteI have not had sloppy joes in ages. My kids asked me to make them for me cause they have never had them. Can you believe that? I was like, I have never made y'all sloppy joes? They just shook their hads sadly. What can of mother am I??? Great post.
ReplyDeleteWHO is that handsome creature? Seriously. WOW.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, and the food looks great of course!
oh my yum! I'd like a taste of everything, please, including the man.
ReplyDeleteOh Lordy!! That guy has me shakin' my head...
ReplyDeleteI could devour him!! Sloppy joes look delicious too- I agree, toasted buns are better!
Thanks for this, it's such a nice way to start the day :)
I loved the whole menu, including the Stud Muffin. My hubby shakes his head at me all the time-- he's from Missouri...innocent, quiet and embarrasses easily. Me? I'm the total opposite. Yin and Yan. You? Hilarious...and a darned good cook.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of bacon in the Joes!
ReplyDeleteAs for the eye candy, he can add bacon where he pleases. Ahem.
The mac salad is almost EXACTLY like my granny's recipe. She didn't use carrots...and added cubed sharp cheddar.
Toasty buns, toasty buns...
I love those head-shakes because they usually are followed by a silly grin. Your posts are too funny and I have been looking forward to each new one. I could easily get used to this meal.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny, and I can just see the hunk sadly shaking his head in disbelief. They just don't get it!
ReplyDeleteThis meal looks so Sixties, so much fun!
Who IS that eye candy?
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your macaroni salad! Yum-o!
I love the homemade look of your sloppy joes. But I love the look of "dessert" even more.
ReplyDeleteThis post is delicious! Wish I had a recipe for that big hunk of deliciousness....oh, and the food looks awesome, too. Seriously, those sloppy joes kick a*#! Bacon. Of course. Must try these pronto!

The Untidy Josephs married with macaroni salad is a great pairing! Smoked Kielbasa- blucka! Cook it from raw- much better!
ReplyDeleteLike others, you had me at bacon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for throwing in Racheal Ray...I was starting to get drawn into Mr. Dreamy there for a sec.
;) amy
I am speechless! Or should I say 'Slupless', lol, you turn me on being turned on...oh no, yep I said it!
ReplyDeleteYum, those sloppy Joes look great. I've made them but never added veggies. Have to give these a try...the macaroni salad is perfect with the sloppy Joes. I am usually the one shaking my head around here....my husband will usually say "there she goes, shaking her head again."
ReplyDeleteYum, sloppy joes! I haven't had one in forever but yours looks awesome, especially since you threw some bacon in there :)
ReplyDeleteBacon bacon bacon! Mmm mmm mmmmm. This like the perfect summer meal.
ReplyDeleteBacon sloppy Joes and macaroni salad...talk about a perfect combo!!
ReplyDeleteHilarious, as usual! I was so into it, then I came across the words "Rachael Ray" and I nearly gagged. Ok, she's not that bad. But the recipes look delicious. I especially love buttered and grilled buns :). And of course, the eye candy is always appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI don't do sloppy joes, but I am enjoying the photos:)
ReplyDeleteOk a few things..
ReplyDelete#1 - who is that guy? Where can I find him?
#2 - yes to the easy sammies for weeknights! We are doing the same thing tonight.
#3 - yes for turning the man on in public, I love that! (Must be a second marriage thing..)
#4 - on your sidebar... says "blogs I read". Execpt I am not there. It should say "blogs I read except Natashya's as, even though I do visit most days.. I don't have her here."
I love the colors in the macaroni salad; it looks very good!
ReplyDeleteHaven't had sloppy Joes in a while; I cheat. I use a package mix (hanging head in abject shame).

ReplyDeletefact: i can't see or eat a sloppy joe without singing "lunchlady land" in my head (or out loud, depending on my location). great post. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the beer tap it reminded me of when I used to bartend and tease the guys with it. Too funny....Never made joes like this but will definately do your recipe next time, macaroni looks very good too.
ReplyDeleteLoL!!! I think your dessert is Italian-Brazilian... and you know everything Italian tastes better!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis: "Rachael Ray(hows that for a cold shower)" had me laughing out loud... people looked at me!
ReplyDeleteI must say, though... I am pretty surprised that you didn't take advantage of the double entendre offered by toasted buns.

ReplyDeleteYou know, the thing about men is that one second they want you to be all..provocative and then the next they shaking their heads in disbelief when you actually follow through. I tell you, can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.
ReplyDeleteI love sloppy joes. Especially on toasted buns.
Thanks for dropping by my blog. I love the pasta and can't wait to try that one soon. Maybe this weekend. I love reading your blog I will add it to my favorites. !
ReplyDeleteOh yeah your hubby loves it when you do that stuff :). I know mine does! Your sloppy joes and mac salad rock! I don't know why people buy the prefab mac salad. The homemade kind like yours is easy and so much better.
