Finger licking good.. I so so so can delve into that description, gosh, bet I could make your toes curl up and hide, both men and women alike, with what I am thinking right now. However time is short and I have lots to do for the holiday weekend. Have I made a decision regarding my blog content? Yes. Am I going to speak about it now? No. You see I do love to tease. Its a fun aspect of the romps in the hay, you know?

Onto Southern Fried Chicken ala Paula Deen. Her original recipe can be found here. My slightly adapted version found below on those adorable key ingredient card thingies.
Let's begin by making her House Seasoning. Combine salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Mix well. Just so you know, you can store in a container for up to 6 months. Now, rinse and dry your chicken parts. In a large bowl, combine eggs, water, Red Hot sauce or Texas Pete hot sauce, and some tabasco.
Mix well. Season your chicken pieces with your house seasoning. Place all your chicken pieces in this mixture, cover and refrigerate 6-12 hours.
Combine flour and pepper. Dip your chicken pieces into the flour mixture 1 at a time.
Only dip in flour right before putting in oil.. makes a difference in my opinion. IMVHO. Heat your peanut oil to 350 in a large deep pot. Fry chicken pieces in oil until brown and crisp.
Dark meat takes longer than white meat. OMG all this talk about MEAT.. Im getting horny.. Dark bout 13-14 minutes and white 8-10 minutes. Make sure you bring the temp of the oil back to 350 between batches... very important. Look at what you get.
Is that not finger licking good?
Sorry KFC, Ive got it all over you Colonel. This was just fantastic.
My FFH gave it 3 johnsons up. Yes, we say johnsons, not thumbs. 2 thumbs being an extremely high rating, for you Polish folk like me who think we have 5 thumbs, like the 5 star rating.
Try it, you'll like it.
Was great leftover also!
Have a Happy and Safe, Sex Filled Holiday weekend.

I love fried chicken but I'm so afraid I'll undercook it and end up with delicious crispy skin on raw meat. Yours looks fantastic, maybe I will have to face my fears and give it a try.
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday weekend!
Now, THAT'S fried chicken. KFC can disappear. Wow! That is indeed a tasty treasure. Awaiting news on your blog... have a grand 4th!

ReplyDeleteMy mother never fried chicken... so, I've never fried chicken! Maybe because I grew up in New England... we ate Boston Baked Beans instead of fried chicken! This looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love this fried chicken. I think the secret is the self rising flour. It turns out beautiful :) If you didn't use the self rising flour you must next time. There is a HUGE difference in the end result.

ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt that it looks finger licking good!
ReplyDeleteThe Colonel should be shaking in his boots! Looks marvelous!
ReplyDeleteYour picture is pretty impressive :) I've never made "actual" fried chicken--just a version in the oven, but since I refuse to go to KFC anymore, I'm thinking this will be my perfect substitute!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious! I tend to not make fried chicken myself cause I'm a priss and I don't like grease splatters. (also why I don't like frying bacon...) LOL. I'm wishing someone else would make it once and a while so I could indulge though. Maybe I'll change my mind and just wear some old rag when frying chicken. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooks as good as Paula Deen makes! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so delicious! I have a weakness for fried chicken.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear your decision! I miss blushing!!
My weekend has been sex-filled! If by sex you mean unpacking, running 10 miles, and spending large amounts of time with my family. If you mean sex as in intercourse though, no such luck. I love the seasoning on this fried chicken, what a perfect, all-American fourth of july food.
ReplyDeleteAh...you're always making me so hungry! And curious...can't wait :)
ReplyDeleteYum...I love finger licking good fried chicken
ReplyDeleteyr fried chicken looks so tempting!! great to have this all-american recipe. i was watching 'party planner with david tuterra' once and they were making this southern fried chicken which looked so good, but no recipe was given in the program. so, thanks!
ReplyDeleteWish I could come to your house to enjoy some of that chicken! I'm too lazy to clean up the mess that results when I fry so it rarely happens at my house. The chicken looks terrific!
