Three quickies.. kinda fugly. Grilled Shrimp Scampi, Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken and Oven Fried Pork Chops

Grilled Shrimp Scampi Oven Fried Pork Chops Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken
Yeah, yeah, so you all think you know me so well.. I mention the word quickie in the title and you think I'm gonna talk about the 2 minute down to a science bj, or the innoculation(thanks for the word doggybloggy) in an elevatorat a department store, or possibly the strokes I can peform at record speed leading to culminationfor my spouse, you may even go so far in your imagination to think that when I speak of quickie, I may be talking of multiple satisfaction via self pleasurization.. Or maybe you think I like rhyming with the word quickie, hickey, chicky, mickey, lickie, dickie. You people give me no credit. You are all wrong....I am speaking of no such nonsense today. I am speaking of quickie and fugly dinners today. Fugly cus we have had a week chock full of quickies due to company and the .. trumpets blare..... wedding!Let's get down to business with the fugly quickies. Here I have the most simple grilled shrimp scampi. FFH and I wanted a quick but delicious surf and turf style dinner one night so he rubbed, oiled, and lubed my body, oh sorry off track.. some steaks andgrilled em on upoh yeah, gimme the meat baby, and I prepared the shrimp, original recipe here, by combining olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, garlic, black pepper and red pepper flakes in a large bowl. I added some shrimp and tossed to coatMarinated for a while, few hours. FFH got the grill ready and oiled it, grilled these babiesto our liking and voila delicious shrimp. Squeeze some lemon on these, have your partner squeeze your lemons too, and youre talking tasty.. can skewer these if ya want them to be an appy..Now here is the second quickie but fugly weeknight dinner....oven fried pork chops. This recipe is taken from The Ultimate Southern Living Cookbook. Gather theseThen all ya gotta do is combine egg, pineapple juice, and soy sauce in a bowl and whisk. In another bowl combine breadcrumbs, (Italian seasoned) ginger, paprika, and garlic powderNow dip your chops in the egg mixture, dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, and place chops on rack in greased roasting pan. I obviously didnt follow directions. Drizzle some butter over the chopsBake these at 350 for bout 25 minutes, then turn and bake 25 more or till done to your taste. That's it, easy, simple, quickie, fugly looking.however, yummy, weeknight meal.

Third and last quickie of this post is for grilled honey mustard chicken. Again I repeat great for a weeknight meal. Original recipe found here. All ya gotta do is combine honey, dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and steak sauce.Reserve some of the mixture for basting. Coat your chicken in this mixture.. that is FFHs hand.and grill, basting a couple of times during the last 10 minutes.. Thats all, quickie or what. Simple, keeper great flavorSo there you have it, 3 quick fugly and easy weeknight meals. HMMMPPHHHH.. and I wasnt even talking going down... town... for meals. This time.

Oh, how was the wedding you may ask?? Well I came out with an injury...Let you know next time all about it. Maybe.

  9. What nice photos of you and FFH. Great quick recipes here - my favorite, of course, is the shrimp. Looks like you used one of those cute little grill baskets to cook them in so they don't fall through the grates.

  47. There is nothing wrong with a good quickie every once in a while. It's better than nothing at all! I love the pork chops. I am always looking for new ways to make them since pork is actually my favorite meat. Except for well. You know.

I hope your FIL's surgery went okay! I am actually at Cornell (New York Presbyterian) over on 70th and york but NYU's hospital is really close. I've eaten at the Barking Dog - good stuff. Next time you're around you should let me know...I could arrange to at least get a cup of coffee.
