Stacey's Broccoli Pie and Leslie's Ultimate Banana Bread .. oh and if you are not a swallower

Broccoli PieLeslie's Ultimate Banana Bread As I mentioned in last post, I am trying to tone down a bit, don't know how long that will last, as I love to dish, anyhow though, I have got to pass this on, can't help my damn self.. found some GREAT advice over at my buddy Chris's blog.. Nibble Me This . We all know men love us women to swallow, shame on you if you don't, don't deny the guy, suck it up (oh what a pun), and do it, finish him to the end. Anyhow, perfect advice for those who don't do the swallow. Ready, are you ready for this, DRINK THIS!!! It supposedly makes the um explosive fluid taste better. Read about it here.

I was scouring through Stacey's of Stacey Snacks archives the other day and came across the easiest recipe she knows, it's here.. This simple to prepare broccoli pie. Oh what a gem, Stacey! My whole clan loved it, so much so, that I couldn't get a picture of a single slice. Thank you.

Let's make it. Roll out a pastry/pie crust and fit it into a tart pan. ( I used 2 pie plates, as my one tart pan was in use, and forgive me but I did use Pillsbury pie crust). First cut and steam your broccoli, if you don't know how to steam broccoli read this. OK, gather these. Now all ya gotta do is whisk the milk and eggs together, add your cooked broccoli, cheese and soup mix. Mix together , pour into your pan. Don't even have to prebake the crust. Bake on a cookie sheet for 40 minutes at 350, let rest a few, and you have indeed a mighty tasty pie. I served as an appetizer to company. It was terrific and raved about by many. I was also asked for the recipe, a sign of a keeper. Try it, you wont be disappointed. Thanks, Stacey!!

I have read everywhere about the lovely Leslie's, of The Hungry Housewife, ultimate banana bread, original recipe here. Being that I am a huge fan of baked banana goods, check here, here, here, here, here, and here ,just to name a few.. So obviously no brainer.. I had to try it.

OMG am I ever so glad I did. Umm, DEBBIE of Mocha Me, my fellow banana lover, make this. Thank you Leslie, we gobbled it up.

Begin by toasting 1 cup of chopped walnuts, let em cool. Now cream together your butter and sugar with hand mixer, adding eggs one at a time mixing in between. In separate bowl, whisk together your flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Slowly add the dry to the wet, alternating with the buttermilk. Start and end with the flour. Mash up those nasty black bananas, and add them along with the vanilla, coconut, walnuts. Gently fold in your blueberries. Lightly grease 2 loaf pans. Pour batter into the pans evenly and sprinkle with a few blueberries. Bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes till toothpick comes out with a few crumbs on it. Let cool before cutting, if you can. It smells heavenly. It was fantastic. Just look. Terrifically moist, loaded with flavor, and just damn tasty. This will be repeated in my home many a time. Thank you Leslie. Now, I want all of the non-swallowers to go buy pineapple juice, it's on sale 2 for $3.00. Go forth, suck and swallow.

Pancake Squares and Quick Cinnamon Biscuits, along with a newsflash

Pancake Squares Quick Cinnamon Biscuits
Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving. Hope your stomachs aren't too full. May I suggest burning it off in the bedroom, cowgirl style ?Or maybe you want to burn the calories by fighting the shopping crowds today, I hear there are some good deals at the sex shop. Buy a vibrator, get rechargeable batteries free. Or buy a porn flick, get edible panties free.Small Newsflash:Many of you have emailed me asking me where has my normal posting style gone? Well, due to some rather freaky, unwelcome circumstances, I have decided to maintain this blog as a next-girl-type-food only blog. I will throw in some of hot sexy me here and there, but no more of the outlandish hijinks. If you need further info, feel free to email me. I am hopeful you will still follow along with me, as I intend to do with you.

Before I begin, may you please excuse the quality of my pictures as these were taken between 6 and 7 AM, with only 1 cup of coffee, laced with kahlua..

I found these darling breakfast treats on Big Red Kitchen and knew immediately I had to try them. A GREAT alternative for making pancakes on a busy morning. My children loved them. All you have to do is beat together milk, melted butter, and egg in a large bowl. Add the sugar, then gradually beat in your flour. Carefully stir in your baking powder and salt. Pour batter into a lightly greased 8x8 pan, and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350. Look how yummy. Of course we load on the butter and syrup in this household. I'm sure you can add blueberries, choc chips if you wish. I'll try that next. Can be doubled in a 9x13 pan. Keep well on warm in the oven also.I also whipped up some Quick Cinnamon Biscuits, no yeast, that I saw on my SISTER's blog, Keeper Worthy Recipes, who saw them on Ezrapoundacke. OMG, they are a cinch to make. And they look so pretty. Keep in mind this is a biscuit texture, not cinnamon roll texture. Start by preparing your filling by combining, brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Set aside. In a large bowl mix together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add 1 1/2 cups heavy cream and stir until the dough forms a ball. Bout a minute or so. With hands fold the dough over a few times in the bowl until the dough is smooth. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, lightly flour your hands and pat the dough into about a 1/2 inch thick rectangle, about 9 x 13 inches. Brush the surface of the dough with heavy cream, sprinkle with your cinnamon sugar/topping. Starting from the long side, roll into a cylinder shape. Slice into 9 equal rounds. Place cut side down into an ungreased 8 inch square pan, or pie plate, bake at 400 for 30 minutes or until tops are lightly browned. While baking make your glaze by combining confectioners sugar and heavy cream. Pour the glaze onto the warm rolls. Yummy breakfast treat. Easy to throw together. Very tasty. Thanks, ladies. Now go out and get those shopping deals.

Skillet Chicken with Broccoli, Pasta and Parmesan Cheese

Skillet Chicken with Broccoli, Pasta, and Parmesan Cheese
Close up, oh yes.
Wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving Day tomorrow. Here's a great idea for a weeknight meal, adapted from The Best Skillet Recipes from Cooks Illustrated, as seen on Debby's blog, found here. Also seen on Kitchen Cafe. I knew it had to be good.Thank you ladies for pointing this out!! Quite tasty, declared a keeper by my FFH. Some prep involved so grab these, and chop your onion, mince the garlic, cut your broccoli florets into big chunks, and coarsely chop your sun dried tomatoes.

Now cut your chicken breasts into one inch squares, seasoning them with salt and pepper and cooking them in a nonstick heated skillet coated in oil for about 1 minute without stirring. Then stir and continue to cook until most of the chicken is lightly browned about the edges, 2 more minutes. Transfer to bowl. Next, add some oil to pan and add your onion and salt. Cook till softened. Stir in the garlic, oregano, and pepper flakes, cook till fragrant. Toss in your pasta, 3 cups of water, and broth. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until the liquid is very thick and syrupy about 12 minutes. Add your broccoli, sun dried tomatoes, and remaining 1 1/4 cups water and cook until the broccoli turns bright green and is almost tender, 3 minutes or so. Uncover, return the heat to medium high. Stir in your heavy cream, freshly grated Parmesan cheese, reserved chicken with juices. Uncover and Continue to simmer until thickened and chicken is cooked through, 1 to 2 minutes. Off heat stir in lemon juice, salt and pepper. Pass more grated Parmesan at able if you'd like. Delicious meal. Comforting, tasty, pretty to look at. One dish meal perfect for the busy holiday season ahead. As this dish has pasta in it, I am sending it over to Deb at kahakaikitchen for Presto Pasta nights. Now, once again, I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. XXOO.
