So, yes, Ive been busy the past few months, extraordinarily so, but I've still been lurking, cooking, and the like.
I saw these fried chicken strips on PW's blog and had to had to had to make them for the kids. They were fabulous!! I made a homemade honey mustard to go with them, and it was a free for all.. I knew I hit upon a winner when they declared them better than McDonalds..wink wink. Perfectly crispy, delightfully crunchy, quick weeknight treat!!
Now, this cake, original recipe here,
has been made 3 times in the last 2 months. It has quickly become a favorite among the firefighters and the kids.
The thick peanut butter mousse is just fabulous. Paired with the chocolate cake, HEAVEN, I tell ya!! PLEASE try this one,
no regrets.. This gem of a cookie

But what are those poor chickens going to do without any fingers? You are mean, Donna! (ha ha)
ReplyDeleteThat cake.....oh my God!!! That cake is definitely worth all the calories :-) And, that is some high praise if the kids think the chicken fingers are better than McD's. I'm definitely going to have to try those. Everything looks delicious, Donna!

What a delightful comment from the children. Those chicken strips look so lighteven though they're battered and that cake is to die for. I'll have to give both of those a try. We'll always be here for you baby, no matter what and you still have a great sense of humor, so don't let it go to waste.
ReplyDeleteI cannot WAIT to make that cake!!! I think I may make it for Joe for Father's Day. But it'll really be for me. Any excuse to have a cake.
ReplyDeleteCleaning up your blog? Say it ain't so! I can't blame you though. After all, parents don't have sex. They don't. We all know that anyone who is a parent is a virgin. My parents are virgins. Of course they are!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour recipes are making up for it though. That cake! I made your chocolate cake with PB frosting earlier this year and it was a huge hit (used my own chocolate cake recipe, but used your frosting recipe). This one looks even better, if such a thing is possible.
We call the last one a pan cookie or a blonde brownie- same taste blend..
ReplyDeleteYou know as I ready anything you write, I will always see my donna with her leather, whip and spiked heels on, as she does her food sloshing!

ReplyDeleteThat peanut butter mousse cake is incredible looking! We currently have a cookie cake in the house as well, a simple favorite.
ReplyDeleteAwww I'm going to miss your witty humor but I understand your reasoning. This meal looks great but the cake is the real winner for me. I'm a sucker for anything chocolate and peanut butter...yum!
