Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cake, Fried Chicken Strips, a GIANT cookie..change of venue.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cake
Fried Chicken Strips GIANT Cookie
OK, so my kids are getting older, 2 are almost entering the 13th year of their age. They are computer savvy. Hence, my focus from here on in will be just the food.. I can't publicly talk about some stuff for fear of embarrassing the 4. Priorities, ya know..

So, yes, Ive been busy the past few months, extraordinarily so, but I've still been lurking, cooking, and the like.

I saw these fried chicken strips on PW's blog and had to had to had to make them for the kids. They were fabulous!! I made a homemade honey mustard to go with them, and it was a free for all.. I knew I hit upon a winner when they declared them better than McDonalds..wink wink. Perfectly crispy, delightfully crunchy, quick weeknight treat!! Now, this cake, original recipe here, has been made 3 times in the last 2 months. It has quickly become a favorite among the firefighters and the kids. The thick peanut butter mousse is just fabulous. Paired with the chocolate cake, HEAVEN, I tell ya!! PLEASE try this one, no regrets.. This gem of a cookie

is so simply prepared, seen on Melanie's blog, is such a tasty cookie, you simply must try this also. Using melted butter, there is no reason not to!! Kids will thank you . See ya soon with a giveaway!

  2. That cake.....oh my God!!! That cake is definitely worth all the calories :-) And, that is some high praise if the kids think the chicken fingers are better than McD's. I'm definitely going to have to try those. Everything looks delicious, Donna!

Glad to see you post some goodies :) I look forward to reading your posts no matter what!

All three of these look so good to me. Maybe because I am searching the house for dessert and all we have it rice crispy treats. boring. I'm not generally a fan of PB and chocolate together but that cake looks awesome!

  16. What a delightful comment from the children. Those chicken strips look so lighteven though they're battered and that cake is to die for. I'll have to give both of those a try. We'll always be here for you baby, no matter what and you still have a great sense of humor, so don't let it go to waste.

  17. I cannot WAIT to make that cake!!! I think I may make it for Joe for Father's Day. But it'll really be for me. Any excuse to have a cake.

  18. Cleaning up your blog? Say it ain't so! I can't blame you though. After all, parents don't have sex. They don't. We all know that anyone who is a parent is a virgin. My parents are virgins. Of course they are!!!!

Your recipes are making up for it though. That cake! I made your chocolate cake with PB frosting earlier this year and it was a huge hit (used my own chocolate cake recipe, but used your frosting recipe). This one looks even better, if such a thing is possible.
